⚠️ Critical Compatibility & Installation Notice

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:

  • Brushless Motors Only: Designed strictly for 3-phase brushless motors. Not compatible with brushed motors.

  • Hall Sensor Requirement: This controller requires a motor with functioning Hall sensors. If connected to a Hall-less motor (or a motor with damaged Hall sensors), the display will continuously show error code E07.

  • First-Time Setup (Self-Learning): You MUST plug in the self-learning wires immediately after installation to match the motor phase parameters before initial operation.

  • PAS Sensor Requirement: For pedal assist functionality, use a dual-Hall PAS sensor setup.

⚙️ Step-by-Step Initial Installation Guide

  1. Wiring Connection: Connect the 3 main phase wires (blue, green, yellow) and the 5-pin Hall sensor plug from your motor to the controller.

  2. Power & Accessories: Connect the main battery leads, throttle, brake levers, and S866 display unit.

  3. Self-Learning Sequence:

    • Connect the two white self-learning wires and switch on the battery power.

    • If the motor spins in reverse, disconnect the learning wires, wait 2 seconds, and reconnect them until the motor spins forward smoothly.

    • Disconnect the self-learning wires and switch off power to store parameters.

Controller Introduction

This controller is suitable for electric scooter and bicycle brushless motor drive, with a self-learning function design, a brushless motor compatibility rate of 99.9%, perfectly compatible with most scooters/bicycles.

Suitable for brushless hall motor, the controller is a sinusoidal drive design, with waveform drive stability, low noise, 13A, 15A, or 22A current power.

This controller has high compatibility. More suitable for maintenance replacement or modification of scooters and bicycles.

If you use a Hall-less motor, please choose our S810 kit; the LCD kit for a Hall-less motor will show an E07 error code.

How to enter Setup Mode

Long-press the + and - buttons for 3-5 seconds after switching on the computer to enter the setting mode; the parameters will blink.
Short-press the M button to switch parameters; press the + and - buttons to select parameters.

Controller Introduction

This controller is a dual-mode design for brushless motors with a Hall sensor.
Brushless Hall motors are 3+5 wire or 3+6 wire; these two types of motors are best suited for brushless controllers.

This controller is suitable for electric scooters as well as electric bikes; it is very compatible and designed for modification users and repair shops.

This controller has a self-learning design. When you install it for the first time, there may be motor jitter; this is normal because the controller doesn't detect your motor parameters. You can short the self-learning wire for 5 seconds; the controller will automatically check your motor parameters and auto-calibrate.

The advantage of this design is that the controller is compatible with almost all brushless motors. Many single-mode sine wave controllers on the market do not have self-learning wires, and this controller is designed with self-learning motors to perfectly solve this problem that bothers users.

You don't need to worry if your motor drives in reverse direction after initial installation; this is normal. You can short-connect the self-learning wire to change the initial direction of the motor.

If you want an accurate LCD speed display, you can enter LCD setting mode and set your motor wheel diameter in P06 in inches.

Set the speed magnet in P07; normally, you can set it to 23.

After setting P06 and P07, you can test the real-time speed with the map navigation app. If the LCD speed is bigger than the navigation display speed, then you can reduce the parameter of P07 to lower the speed display ratio.

If the LCD speed is less than the navigation display speed, you can increase the parameter in P07 to increase the speed display ratio. After finding the exact speed that suits you in this way, you will see the exact speed on the LCD.
